North Dakota Rebuilt Title

In the state of North Dakota, a rebuilt title is known as a "Prior/Previously Salvage Title". This title is issued to vehicles that have been previously declared as salvage, but have been repaired and are now roadworthy.

To qualify for a Prior Salvage Title in North Dakota, the vehicle must have been deemed salvage by an insurance company or the owner, and then repaired to meet the state's safety standards. The vehicle must also pass a mandatory inspection by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

To obtain a Prior Salvage Title in North Dakota, the owner must submit an application to the North Dakota Department of Transportation. The application must include proof of ownership, proof of insurance, and a completed inspection form. The inspection form must be completed by an authorized North Dakota Highway Patrol officer, who will verify that the vehicle meets the state's safety standards.

The mandatory inspection is performed by an authorized North Dakota Highway Patrol officer. The officer will inspect the vehicle's major components, such as the engine, transmission, suspension, and brakes, to ensure that they meet the state's safety standards. The officer will also check the vehicle's title history to ensure that it was previously salvaged (as opposed to a Junk Title , which is non-repairable) and that the repairs were made according to the state's regulations.

The purpose of the mandatory inspection is to ensure that rebuilt vehicles are safe for the road and to prevent fraud, like use of stolen parts. By requiring a thorough inspection and documentation of repairs, North Dakota is able to protect consumers and maintain the integrity of its vehicle titling system.

After completing the inspection your can proceed to paperwork and title application:
